[Santo - The Beach]

[master post]

You have to walk down a ramp to get to the sand. The ramp stretches over sand dunes, with sea oats dotting them, blowing in the near-constant breeze. On the same level as the ramp: a boardwalk, dotted with places to get sketchy-looking fried food, to try your luck at a number of games of chance, to watch performers, to ride roller coasters of the future!!!!

When you walk down the ramp, it's all white sand and blue water. Down about half a mile is a pier that juts out several hundred feet.

It's a nice beach. Not too crowded.

"Okay -- first, we need a base."

Bases are easy enough to create -- it's a small raised plateau between the both of them, a flat surface to model off of.

"Then, we need a face to model."

"Yours, because your nose is bigger than mine."

This is very funny, as evidenced by the giggling.

:O(

Mal disapproves, and rubs at his nose.

"Well." Haughty sniff. "Okay then! Little bit more sand on top of our bottom here, and then we need your magic pigu to go get us some water in that bucket of yours."

"My magic what?" She pours the sand where directed and pats it down.

>_>

<_< "Nevermind. Get us some water, would ya?"

"Okay!"

She takes the bucket to the water and fills it. Carefully, she makes her way back, only sloshing some of it out.

"Here you go, Captain."

"You can call me Mal, you know," the captain says, grabbing the bucket from Ingress and pouring about half of it into the sand next to the base they've already constructed.

"Okay, now -- what I would do next is figure out where my gigantic nose is gonna be..."

"I call you Mal all the time, silly," she says, patting the face's edges. "Shouldn't it be in the middle of the face? Unless we want to make a crazy face."

"See, now you're callin' my face crazy. Not sure I appreciate that miss."

Feigning being wounded only works for about twelve seconds.

Roughly.

"Middle it is." Mal picks up a wad of the wet sand and starts to mold it.

"Oh, Captain Chicken, you're so dramatic," she says, rolling her eyes.

Speaking of eyes, it's not very long at all before the face is finished. All except for eyelashes!

"I don't know," Ingress says, placing a few seashells in vague, eyelash shapes. "Maybe these should be the hair instead."

"My hair ain't that shiny."

Neither are his eyelashes.

Shh.

"Yes, Mal." She sighs theatrically. "Whatever you say."

She laughs at his expression as she continues fanning them out around the eyes.

"Okay. Eyes, lashes, nose, hair, mouth - I think we have a face."

"Anythin' else we should add? I'm fairly pretty as it is."

"I think we're done. It's brilliant."

She admires the giant face a moment and then smiles up at Mal.

"We're a good team. Will you get me a drink now? I'm thirsty."
