Daniel sends a wave
Feb. 4th, 2008 11:27 amDaniel is nearing Whittier, maybe 5 hours out, when he sends the wave to Serenity. He isn't sure how far they are, or if the ship's outdated comm system will send the message right, but he has to try.
"To the man calling himself Malcolm Reynolds. It is important that I speak with you. I have questions that need answers. If you land, I can come meet you." He chuckles dryly. "No weapons, I promise. If I miss you on Whittier, I'll keep tracking you. As someone who claims to be a browncoat, I'll expect you to do me this courtesy. You'll be hearing from me again soon."
He keys the message off and hits send. All he can do now is wait.

Date: 2008-02-08 01:33 am (UTC)Well, a message comes in, garbled and choked with static.
"--colm Reynolds--have questions that--weapons--keep tracking you--browncoat, I'll expect--me again soon."
Ah, says the look Zoe and Wash exchange when it plays on the bridge, this could be bad.
Zoe leans over, thumbing the internal comms. "Cap'n? We just got a wave I think you should hear."

Date: 2008-02-08 01:48 am (UTC)A button is pounded in Inara's shuttle: "Two seconds."
In something slightly longer than the offered time limit, Mal appears in the entrance to the bridge. "Weren't anything to be bounced back to the shuttle." More of a question than it sounds.

Date: 2008-02-08 02:02 am (UTC)And do not let up with "--have questions that--weapons--keep tracking you--browncoat--I'll expect--me again soon."
"We get any sort of a trace on that, location, anything?" Mal asks. Wash gestures to the screen to his right, placing the origin of the call just outside of Whittier atmo. "Probably why it's so trashed, transmitted through the cloud-haze."
To Zoe: "They never do call to make nice, do they?"

Date: 2008-02-08 02:32 am (UTC)Zoe eyes the screen and the distance between Whittier and their current location, wondering what kind of ship the wave is coming from, how much of a lead they've got if it comes to that.
"You wanna stop an' see what they want?"

Date: 2008-02-08 02:35 am (UTC)"If it's anything more interesting than that...they can come to us."
Even if Mal is not happy about it.
